Vicky (Centre Director)
Vicky leads Ekidna with warmth, dedication, and a genuine love for children and families. With many years of experience in early childhood education, she brings a calm and nurturing presence to our centre, guiding both our team and our community with kindness and respect.
Vicky is passionate about creating an environment where children feel safe, valued, and inspired to explore the world around them. She believes in building strong, trusting relationships with families and working together to ensure every child feels at home at Ekidna.
Her leadership style reflects her heart – approachable, supportive, and deeply committed to the wellbeing of children, families, and educators alike. Under Vicky’s guidance, Ekidna continues to be the warm, inclusive, and community-minded place that children love to learn and grow in.
Steph (Assistant Director)
Steph wears two very special hats at Ekidna – as our Assistant Director and as the lead educator in the Preschool Room. Families know Steph for her warm, approachable nature and her genuine passion for preparing children for the exciting transition to “big school.”
Her school readiness philosophy is all about nurturing the whole child. Steph understands that children need more than just early academics to thrive at school – they need confidence, independence, resilience, and strong social and emotional skills. She creates a preschool program that sparks curiosity, builds friendships, and encourages children to take pride in their achievements.
Steph’s deep knowledge and thoughtful approach give families peace of mind, knowing their children are supported, challenged, and celebrated every step of the way. She is also a trusted leader within our centre, guiding our team with the same care and dedication she shows to every child.
Erin (Educational Leader)
Erin is a highly experienced and passionate educator who leads our team in delivering a rich, play-based curriculum at Ekidna. As our Educational Leader, she provides guidance and support to educators, ensuring our programs are meaningful, inclusive, and responsive to each child’s interests and developmental needs.
With a deep commitment to fostering curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning, Erin inspires both children and educators to embrace new ideas and opportunities. She values collaboration with families and the community, recognising that strong partnerships play an essential role in children’s growth and success.
Erin’s leadership is defined by her professionalism, creativity, and dedication to continuous improvement. She ensures our educational practices reflect the highest standards while staying true to Ekidna’s philosophy of creating a nurturing, home-like environment where every child can thrive.
Laura (Administration)
Laura has been a part of Ekidna’s story for many years. She first joined our team as an educator in the classrooms, where she loved being hands-on with the children and building strong, trusting relationships with families. She later stepped into the role of Director, leading with kindness and helping to grow the warm, home-like culture that makes Ekidna so special.
These days, Laura supports our community through her administration role, where her deep knowledge of Ekidna and her genuine care for families continue to shine.
What makes Laura’s connection to Ekidna even more meaningful is that her two daughters also attend the centre. Experiencing Ekidna both as an educator and a parent gives her a unique perspective, and she treasures being part of the same welcoming community her children are growing up in.
For Laura, Ekidna is more than a workplace – it truly feels like family.
